Customer Reviews – Beauty Smart
“I was referred to Deana through my doctor for a small spot I had on my nose. I didn’t know what it was, but every time I looked in the mirror, there it was, for almost one year. I went in and in 2 treatments that each lasted probably 5 minutes each, the spot disappeared after the second treatment in only days. The nice part of the experience was that Deana checked in by text EVERY DAY to see how things were moving along for me. I was so impressed by her follow up and that she really wanted to make a difference for me. She is professional and really cares about her customers. I would recommend her and her services to anyone that wants to feel and look better. I can’t wait to go back for some of her other services. Thank you!” – Lauren Golen

1. Read Labels and Avoid the Dirty Dozen*
Thanks to great websites like www.safecosmetics.org and free mobile apps you can download on your smart phone like: Think Dirty, Skin Deep and Good Guide you can scan the bar code of products before you buy or type in the ingredients and get a level of safety of that product.
2. Beware of “Green-washing” and “Pink-washing” Words like natural and organic have no legal meaning in the cosmetic industry.
Read the label or scan the product with your smart app. Beware of the pink ribbon on products during Breast Cancer Awareness months—many of these products have ingredients that cause cancer.
3. Less is More – The less products you use, the better for your skin and overall health.
Look for Do It Yourself recipes and if you are a busy girl, scan bar codes and only buy products that are deemed safe using one of the independent apps like “Think Dirty”. Look for products that have more than one purpose so you don’t expose yourself to more chemicals.
Psoriasis on Elbow
If you have Psoriasis, an autoimmune skin care disease, which is a common condition, then you are familiar with its many uncomfortable symptoms. Some of them that a person with this disease can experience are dry scaly patches of skin that can be red, white, silvery, or irritated. This is caused in the 2-3 percent of the population due to an overabundance of skin cell production. It’s a long term chronic state of a person’s skin that can be very embarrassing to deal with. Flawless skin is an obsession of American’s since everywhere you look there are photographs of models in the magazines and online with unblemished, perfect skin.
People who have psoriatic skin can be affected by this in different ways. It can even cause an underlying insecurity about exposing their skin in public. The most common places that this occurs on the body are the knees, feet, elbows, hairline, and lower back. It can be difficult to hide especially if you live in a warm climate, where you aren’t covered up all the time. There are many treatments available including medications, creams, lotions, and spa therapies such as Halotherapy or salt therapy to treat Psoriasis.
Psoriasis Cream Will Help
This is a mineral based cream that is applied twice a day to the skin, morning and night, to diminish the outbreaks of psoriasis in the outer layers of the skin. Dead sea minerals that are salt based are especially helpful in treating this condition. Salt therapy helps to purify the skin that helps suppress outbreaks. It refines the skin to help with the bothersome flair ups making them less noticeable. The nutrients in the minerals that salt provide are a panacea to someone inflicted with psoriasis. It’s worth it to try salt therapy if you have tried many medications and creams in the past that haven’t worked for you. Salt is natural because it’s mined directly from the earth to be more tolerated by the skin, and less made up of artificial chemicals that can irritate the skin.
Other Ways To Decrease Outbreaks of Psoriasis
Other treatments that you might utilize in treating this condition besides salt or Halotherapy are a balanced diet, with no alcohol or smoking, and a low stress lifestyle. Salt Therapy helps because it boosts the immune system working from the inside out. Psoriasis is an auto-immune disorder. The dry salt therapy flushes out unwanted bacteria from the airways relieving the immune system to fend of the skin easier. Stress is also thought to trigger more severe outbreaks, so trying to maintain a lower stress level will go a long way in helping you deal with your condition. A diet rich in fruits and vegetables, lean protein, and whole grain carbs will give you the energy and antioxidants your body needs to perform at its optimum levels to keep your condition in check.
You might want to try to practice yoga or meditation daily to help your body fight stress. This will allow you to step back, take a deep breath, and get your stress level down to where it’s not affecting you as much. It does help to also engage your body is regular exercise about 3 to 4 times a week for at least 30 minutes at a time. Walking, jogging, or doing an elliptical are a few ways to just get some cardio in your life to increase your circulation, and aid in better cardiovascular health. The entire body is connected in ways that we don’t’ even completely understand. By taking the best care of it as possible, you can greatly improve your autoimmune disease symptoms to have a better quality of life.
